Paper Submission

Abstracts (100 to 300 words in length) and papers can be submitted in the following five conference tracks: 1) Full Papers, 2) Student Posters, 3) Industry Presentations, 4) New and Notable, and 5) Workshops.

  1. Full Papers:

    Papers in this track can have a primary author who is a faculty member, a postdoctoral fellow, or a graduate student. The abstract submission deadline is February 3, 2014.

  2. Student Posters:

    This track is for poster presentations by a graduate and undergraduate student. No paper submission is required. The abstract submission deadline is February 3, 2014.

  3. Industry Presentations:

    Papers or posters in this track should have a primary author who is a professional from industry. The submission of full papers is not required, but the authors are encouraged to submit a short paper/extended abstract no more than 2 pages in length. The abstract submission deadline is February 3, 2014.

  1. New and Notable:

    This track is for presentations about novel and promising interactive learning tools, methods, and approaches that had only brief preliminary testing in classroom. The submission of full papers is not required, but the authors are encouraged to submit a short paper/extended abstract no more than 2 pages in length. The presenting author should be a faculty member or a postdoctoral fellow. The abstract submission deadline is February 3, 2014.

  2. Workshops:

    Use this track if you are interested in organizing a pre- or in-conference workshop. The track is open to faculty members, professional from industry, and teachers (e.g., to organize K-12 and Pre-College Engineering Education workshops). Please submit a short abstract by February 3, 2014.

Information for Authors:

The authors of accepted abstracts are encouraged to prepare papers using the formatting guidelines for ASEE-GSW Conference papers available on the University of Houston College of Technology website.

Other Guidelines:

  • Full papers should not exceed 15 pages.
  • Short papers/extended abstracts of 2 to 4 pages in length are welcome but not required for abstracts submitted in “New and Notable”, “Industry Presentations” and “Student Posters” tracks.
  • The deadline for paper submission in the final manuscript form is February 24, 2014.
  • Please complete and submit online the Copyright Transfer Form before submission of the final manuscript.
